James M. Bachmann "JB", age 75 of Whitelaw, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at home, surrounded by his family.
JB was born on July 5, 1950 in Manitowoc, son of the late Arthur and Gertrude (Derus) Bachmann. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1968. On August 6, 1976, JB was joined in marriage with Jody M. Jacobs at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Manitowoc. JB began working alongside his father at Hamann Construction in Manitowoc as a Mason and continued his career as a Mason until his retirement in 2007. JB belonged to the Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers. He enjoyed driving his 1940 Ford Coupe and going to car shows, as well as cutting and splitting wood whenever he could. In his retirement he was often found working on power wheels for his grandchildren and 4-wheeling around his yard, watching a Green Bay Packer game at Wicked Wings Ranch, but above all he enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Jody M. Bachmann, Whitelaw; daughter and son-in-law: Jobeth (Scott) Hoefner, Whitelaw; daughter and special friend: Jill Bachmann (Dan Idelburg), Brooklyn Park, MN; daughter and son-in-law: Jenna (Joe) Landwehr, Cato; daughter and son-in-law: Joni (Michael) Larson, Whitelaw; grandchildren: Katlyn (McCoy) Reimer, Fredericksburg, VA, Charlie Hoefner, Whitelaw, Kaydence Larson, Whitelaw, Cameran Hoefner, Whitelaw, Wyatt and Vayda Landwehr, Cato; sister and brother-in-law: Ann (Robert) Bedessem, Champlin, MN; brother and sister-in-law: John (Georgia) Bachmann, Littleton CO, sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Julie (Gary) Yanda, Newport Richie, FL; brother-in-law: Joe Jacobs, Two Rivers; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, as well as longtime friends: The Brennan family especially Buck and Jackie Brennan, Jim and Joan Sauer and his car club friends Paul, Bev, Donald and Karen. He was preceded in death by his parents: Arthur and Gertrude Bachmann; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Austin and Marion Jacobs; infant sister: Mary Jo Bachmann; two brothers-in-law: Jeffrey and John Jacobs.
A Prayer Service will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. at Reinbold and Pfeffer Funeral Home, 1124 Main Street, Kellnersville with a Celebration of Life to follow at K-City Pub and Grill, 1233 Main Street, Kellnersville. Relatives and friends may call the funeral home on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
