James Edwin Bachuss
"Ed"
May 15, 1932 – January 28, 2026
James Edwin Bachuss departed this life on January 28, 2026, at the age of 93 years, 8 months, 13 days, plus 9 months in his mother's womb.
He was born in Hardin County, Tennessee, on May 15, 1932, the son of the late Joseph and Rebecca Cooper Bachuss.
On August 4, 1957, Ed was united in marriage to Reba Prater, (who survives him).
Ed proudly served his country in the United State Navy from 1951 to 1955, receiving the National Defense Service Metal and Good Conduct Metal.
In 2002, Ed retired from TVT Towing. During his retirement years, he devoted his time to his family. He was lovingly referred to as "Pappa "by his granddaughter and great-grandchildren.
Ed's first love was serving his Lord. He read the Bible from cover to cover, sang and praised God daily. He set an example for his family and friends. If asked a question about the Bible, he was more than happy to share his understanding of scripture. When times were tough, he would always say "This too shall pass."
Ed is survived by a son Jed Bachuss, daughter Jill Bachuss, both of Savannah, Tennessee; his granddaughter, Julianne Bachuss Wingo; great-grandson, Grayson Williams; great-granddaughter, Harper Williams, of Cordova, Tennessee.
Along with his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his brothers, Elmer, John, J.B., Wallace and Gernel Bachuss, and his sisters Maggie Barnett, Gerneal Goodman and Myrtle Bachuss.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorial donations may be made to Pyburn Cemetery Fund at 320 Ridge Rd. Savannah, TN 38372; Alzheimer's Association, Daryl Worley Foundation or charity of choice.
