James Douglas Bayliff, 87, of Graham, North Carolina passed away at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Thursday, February 27, 2025.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Clara Tucker Bayliff and son of the late James Alvis Bayliff and the late Hattie Armstrong Bayliff. He retired from AT&T at age 50 and got involved with Special Olympics Golf, Lamplighters, Church van ministry, Lions Club, American Red Cross Disaster Relief and countless others. He was also proud to become an ordained Minister and was able to marry two of his Granddaughters.
He loved his God, his family, his dogs, his church and his community. He dedicated his life to the service of God through serving any and all that he could. He was a servant at heart, a poet in soul, and a gentle spirit. He gave until he could give no more, all to the glory of God.
He is survived by his daughter, Donna Lynn Bayliff and spouse Annette Fiorentino; sons, James Michael Bayliff and Mark Douglas Bayliff and spouse Sue Bayliff; and Buddy Bayliff, his beloved dog; grandchildren, Epiphany James, Tillman Tadlock and spouse Adam Tadlock, Rachel Richmond and spouse Trysten Richmond and Zachary Bayliff; seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lorene Pardue and spouse Wayne Pardue; and daughter-in-law and caregiver Penny Bayliff.
In addition to Maw and his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Lynn Bayliff; brother, Foy Bayliff; and sisters Dorthy Lee and Linda Whitson.
His memorial service will be conducted at 12pm on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the United Methodist Church in Graham by Rev. Duane Partin. There will be a visitation at Stafford Hall in the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the United Methodist Church Ministry Program.
