James “Jim” Walter Beard, Jr. age 82 of Arrington, TN passed away July 23, 2025. He was born in Williamson County, TN to the late James Walter Beard, Sr. & Elva Tindall Beard. Jim retired from Bellsouth after 30 years of dedicated service. He also served in the Tennessee National Guard. Jim enjoyed working in the hay field as well as raising cattle. He is preceded in death by his best friend of 65 years, Jimmy Peach. Jim is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Ann Beard; son, Jamie (Charlotte) Beard; sister, Elva Dianne (Marty) Myers; nieces, Cortney (Brandon) Oglesby and Lauren (Scott) Stevens; sister in-law, Lorene Smith; beloved dog of eleven years, Molly and many other loving family members. Funeral service will be held 11:00AM Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. Jim Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow at Williamson Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Alex Reed, Jason Kelley, Mark Allen Layne, Scott Stevens, Brandon Oglesby and Blake Bowers. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth “Shag” Allen, Joe Barrow, David Clark and Tyrone Ridley. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Visitation will be 4-8PM Monday and one hour prior to the service at WILLIAMSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 615-794-2289. www.williamsonmemorial.com
