James Beauford Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

James A Beauford, age 90, of Kennesaw, GA transitioned to Heaven on Thursday, October 16,
2025. Known as Jim to his friends and Paw Paw to his family, his passing has left a big hole in
our hearts. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday October 21st from 6:00-8:00 PM and Funeral
Service for Wednesday October 22nd at 11:00 AM at Marietta Funeral Home located at 915
Piedmont Road, Marietta, GA 30066.
James married his high school sweetheart Dot in 1955. After graduating from Auburn
University, he served time in the army then began his career as an engineer at General Motors.
When he retired at the young age of 59, he took up wood carving at the Senior Center. He also
enjoyed fishing, playing golf, traveling, and investing his time with people, especially his friends
and family. He had a gentle and joyful spirit that made everyone feel welcome. He was on
dialysis the last 8 years of his life but he never let that steal his joy or his love for life.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Dot Beauford, his daughters Teresa (Greg) Willis and
Donna (Ronald) Bankston, 3 grandchildren (Sarah, Emily and Joy) and 8 great grandchildren. His
loving care for his family is something we will always cherish and will be his lasting legacy.
