James Becker Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 10, 2025.
James Jay Becker, 78, of New Fairfield, CT, and Palm Beach Gardens, FL, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 14, 1947, in Lincoln, Nebraska, Jay led a fulfilling and accomplished life, marked by his devotion to family, professional achievements, and community service.
Family was the center of Jay's life and his greatest joy. He was a proud father to his sons, Troy and Trent, and a devoted grandfather to Abby. His marriage to Karly was the foundation of his happiness, and together they created a loving home and lasting friendships in Candlewood Knolls. Jay generously gave his time by serving two terms as President and other leadership roles on the Candlewood Knolls Board, where his vision and dedication left a lasting impact on the community.
He will be remembered for his integrity, resilience, and love of life's simple pleasures-a round of golf, a cold beer, a good dog by his side, college (Nebraska Huskers being a favorite) and NFL football, and the companionship of family and friends. In his later years, he pursued investing, authored a book, and continued to indulge his lifelong passion for golf. His legacy lives on in the community he helped strengthen and in the hearts of those he loved.
Jay is survived by his wife of 35 years, Karly Becker; his sons, Troy (Danielle) and Trent (Victoria); his granddaughter, Abby; his brother, Doug Becker (Jan); and his sister, Jane Galusha, and five nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Helene Becker, and his brother-in-law, Grant Galusha.
A Celebration of Jay's Life will be held in the Spring at the Candlewood Knolls Clubhouse in New Fairfield, CT. Friends and family are invited to gather in his honor.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jay's favorite charity, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation (www.T2T.org).
