Beikirch, James
Gates: Thursday, May 29, 2025, at age 66. He is predeceased by his parents, Bill & Rosemary Beikirch; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Ralph & Geraldine Engelbrecht. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Meg [Engelbrecht] Beikirch; children, Kyle (Sarah) Beikirch and Kelsie Beikirch; grandson, Finn Beikirch; brother, Daniel (Marie Engelbrecht) Beikirch; sister, Laurie (Mike) Serpe; sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law, Maureen & Steve O'Brien, Marcia & Don Berthiaume, and Mark & Denise Engelbrecht; 11 nieces, 9 nephews, cousins, and friends.
Jim lived a life most can only dream of. A loving and devoted husband to Meg, he was the rock of their home and a man who was faithful to forever checking off her honey-do list. As a father, he was undeniably proud of Kelsie and Kyle (with daughter-in-law Sarah), whom he loved deeply. To his grandson Finn, he was the most precious Papa; warm, playful, and endlessly giving. Jim had a deep love for his brother and sister, all his in-laws, and every one of his favorite nieces and nephews. He was a staple in their neighborhood and among his many friends, always ready to lend a hand, share a laugh, or crack a beer together.
He found joy in the outdoors, especially through golfing and hunting, and never passed up the chance to pour a good drink and share a funny story. Known by all as everyone's go-to handyman, Jim owned every tool imaginable, twice over, and took pride in fixing, building, and helping whenever he could.
Jim was also the hardest worker. His time with Kodak, VI, and Aurora Machines was more than just a career. It was where he forged lifelong friendships and left a mark on many through his dedication and hard work. He kept working not because he had to, but because he wanted to. He was a man who took pride in showing up, staying committed, and doing things the right way. Jim quite literally worked until the last week of his life, a fact that probably does not surprise the ones who know him best.
During his final days, Jim shared that he was never afraid of dying; what weighed on him was everything he would miss. But he found peace in knowing that the village he built with Meg was unmatched - a strong, loving community that showed up large and loud until his very last breaths. That village, and the love and support it holds, is what brings him peace, knowing without a doubt that his family will be taken care of.
