James Arthur Bendure, age 77, of East Sparta, passed away on January 18, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on July 31, 1947, in Massillon, Ohio, to James and Vivian (Axxe) Bendure. 

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by brother, Jack and sister-in-law, Tina Bendure, sisters, Kay Evans and Carol Wallace, and mother-in-law, Beth Dennis. 

James is survived by his wife of 20 years, Sarah (Dennis),  their son, Charles. He also leaves behind father-in-law, Gary Dennis, brothers-in-law, Tom Evans and Jeremy (Michelle) Dennis, sisters-in-law, Coralee James and Melanie (Nathan) Capaldi, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

James proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from 1966-1970. Upon returning home, James was employed at Timken Steel as a millwright for 30 years before retiring in 2001.  James enjoyed spending time with family, cuddling with his cats and hunting with his best buddy, Chris Lehman. 

A memorial service will be held Friday, January 31, 2025 11:00a.m. at Martindale Christian Fellowship. Condolences and special memories of James can be shared with his family online at www.hertiagecremationsociety.com
