James Edward Bland

1957 - 2021

BLAND, James Edward, affectionately known as "Jimmy" or "Lil Man," of Richmond, Va., entered into eternal rest peacefully on February 2, 2021. James was born on May 6, 1957, in Richmond, Va., to the late Laura Belle Easley-Bland and James Edward Johnson. James was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Bland. He received his education in the state of Ohio. James attended church regularly until his health began to decline. James leaves to cherish his loving memory one daughter, Shadet Rowlett; 10 siblings, Patricia Talib, Linda Easley, Tyrone Easley, Timothy Bland, Sheila Booker, Vernelle Bland, Calvin Cooley, Andre Bland, Janice Jones (Michael), Yuro Crawley; three grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for all the prayers, kind words and acts of kindness. Also, we would like to offer special thanks to physicians at VCU Health System and Elizabeth Adam Crump Health and Rehab. Your many acts of kindness will never be forgotten. Please continue to keep our family in prayer. A private service celebrating the life of James will be February 10, 2021, at 12 p.m. at Mimms Funeral Home.
