James Bonafino Obituary

James H. Bonafino 87 of Broomall formerly of Prospect Park suddenly passed away on December 27th 2025. James was born November 3rd 1938; he lived a life grounded in devotion to the ones he loved most. His family was the center of his world. He took pride in being a husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle.

He was hardworking and dedicated. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard, a hairdresser for 25 years, as well as other ventures. He finally retired after 19 years at UPS.

James is survived by his wife Liberata "Libby" Bonafino. They were married 61 years after meeting at the Mummers Parade 65 years ago. They enjoyed traveling together especially on Cruises, meeting people and making memories.

James is the son of the late Angelo and Francis (Nee Panvini) Bonafino and grandfather of deceased Albert James "AJ" Mascucchini.

Survived by his brother Robert "Bobby" and Amelia "Dee" Bonafino. His children Celeste (Albert) Mascucchini, James (Tatjana) Bonafino, Desiree (John) Merrick. Grandchildren Nicholas Michael and Alisha Bonafino, Gabriele Rosati, Jessica Afanador, Janine and Chris Repine. Great grandchildren Grace and Austin Repine, and Nellie Afanador.

James will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Friday January 2nd 2026 at St. Pius Church 220 Lawrence Rd Broomall, PA 19008 at 9:00 AM followed by 10:00 AM Mass. Interment will be private.
