William Morris Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Logan-Videon Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. - Broomall on Jan. 5, 2026.
William Henry Morris, known affectionately by friends as Bill, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, at the age of 97, in Media. Born on September 22, 1928, in Philadelphia, Bill was a man whose life was characterized by his loving nature, friendly demeanor, and engaging stories that captivated all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was especially known for his warm smile and his unmistakable Irish sense of humor, often delivered with a quick wit and a twinkle in his eye, which brought laughter and comfort to those around him.

Bill grew up in Philadelphia, a city that remained close to his heart throughout his life. He was predeceased by his parents and his siblings, Chris, John, and Mary, who each held a special place in his life. Bill was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Eleanor Denton, with whom he shared a life full of joy and companionship.

A dedicated professional, Bill spent his early career as an underwriter for an insurance company, demonstrating his keen eye for detail and unwavering commitment to excellence. His career trajectory later took a turn when he chose to serve his community more directly by moving to McDade Blvd., where he owned and operated William H. Morris Insurance Agency, trading as Bill's Auto Tags, a respected tag agency for 10 years before retiring. His work was not just a profession but a way to connect with and support the people in his community.

Bill's commitment to others extended beyond his professional life. He was a devout member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Springfield, where he was known for his active participation, generous spirit, and willingness to lend a hand wherever needed. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him in his daily actions.

Those who knew Bill would describe him as a loving and genuine individual, always ready with a kind word, a supportive gesture, or a lighthearted remark that reflected his Irish wit. His friendly approach to life made him a cherished friend and a beloved member of his community, and his humorous anecdotes were a testament to a life well lived and rich in experience.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Logan-Videon Funeral Home, 2001 Sproul Rd., Broomall, PA 19008.
