James Austin Boyle, a cherished lifelong resident of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, in Lansdale, PA, at the age of 92. Born on October 7, 1932, James tightly embraced life with a joyful spirit and unwavering dedication to his family and interests.
James is survived by his beloved daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Geno Martini; his loving son and daughter-in-law, James and Joann Boyle; his devoted son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Barbara Boyle; and his adoring daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Curry and Brian Cohen. James also leaves behind ten treasured grandchildren: Joseph, Kelly, Jason, Shannon, Luke, Stacey, Matthew, Emily, Holly, and Hunter, along with five great-grandchildren: Liam, Kylee, Chase, Lilah, and Summer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews who will carry his memory forward.
James was a proud Veteran of the United States Army as well as the Pennsylvania National Guard. Throughout his life, James created a vast treasure trove of memories, often gathering with his family on delightful vacations in the Outer Banks, where he loved crabbing with his grandchildren. The laughter and joy shared during those moments will forever resonate in their hearts. James was an avid reader who found solace in the works of legendary authors such as Rudyard Kipling, Oscar Wilde, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. His passion for literature ignited many thoughtful conversations among his family and friends.
Alongside his love for reading, James thoroughly enjoyed riding his bike in Pennypack Park, immersing himself in the beauty of nature while staying active. His appreciation for fitness and the outdoors exemplified his zest for life and his desire to enjoy every moment.
James was preceded in death by his parents, John Boyle and Isabel Carr Boyle, whose love and guidance formed the foundation of his own family values. He is the brother of the late Jack, William, Francis and Isabella.
A visitation to honor and celebrate James's life will be held on September 12, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services, located at 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA 19067. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location. James will then be laid to rest during interment and military honors at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA, starting at 2:30 PM.
James Austin Boyle will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege to know him. His legacy of love, kindness, and cherished family memories will continue to inspire future generations.
