James Robert Branam, better known as "Bobby," of Hayden, Ala. passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025.

James was a faithful man who loved the Lord and his family deeply. Although he will be missed, his family is rejoicing that he is at home finally and is healed.

2 Timothy 4:7-8 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on that day."

James was preceded in death by his parents, John Robert and Ellen Hogan Branam; wife, Mary Ellen Harbuck Branam; daughter, Robin Elizabeth Branam; and siblings, Ronny Gene Branam and Mary Grimes.

He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Larae Branam McCracken (Ralph Roger); grandchildren, Isaiah McCracken (Victoria Jean White) and Kayla Brooke McCracken; great-grandson, Hudson James McCracken; and brother, Jimmy Branam (Vicky).

The visitation and funeral service for Bobby will both be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Monday, May 19, 2025. The family will receive guests in the funeral home's chapel from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., when the funeral service will begin. Ralph and Isaiah McCracken will be officiating our funeral service. The following day, Tuesday, May 20, at 10:00 a.m. everyone will reconvene graveside in Highland Memorial Gardens in Bessemer, for a brief committal service that will take place just before interment.
