Jon Carroll Patterson

Jon Carroll Patterson of Warrior, Alabama passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at the age of 73. Jon attended Mortimer Jordan High School. He worked at L & N Distribution Services and then retired from ABF Birmingham after 28 years as a truck driver. He was a proficient woodworker and found relaxation in being in a boat fishing, as well as watching deer. Whatever he was doing, you could normally find his pal, Jack, right by his side for it. Jack was Jon's fur-baby and constant companion. In his earlier days, Jon loved riding motorcycles and repairing any and all engines using just the parts that came from them.

Jon is survived by his wife of 19 years, Sonia Hilburn Patterson; daughter, Christina Patterson Glass; two granddaughters, Breanna Shadrick (Clint) and Alissa Glass; two great-granddaughters, Saylor and Adaline Shadrick; one brother, Mike Patterson (Jackie); two aunts, Lorene McCreless and Patricia Wheeles (Al); two nephews, Jeremy Patterson (Andrea) and Mark Patterson (Kaci); two great-nieces, Elliana McKinley and Reese Patterson; one great-nephew, Hilton Patterson; as well as a host of cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd & Edna Cato Patterson; grandparents, Jeannie & Thomas Cato and Ruth & Lloyd Patterson; one nephew, Jason Patterson; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

There will be a visitation for Jon at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on September 19, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Directly after the funeral service, we will reconvene graveside in Liberty Minter Cemetery for a brief committal service before interment.
