James “Jimmy” Brent Brooks, Jr., 65, went to meet his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 15, 2025. Jimmy was born November 30, 1959, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Jim and Susie Brooks.
Jimmy served in the United States Army and was a welder by trade. He loved fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his father, James Brooks, Sr., and his maternal and paternal grandparents. Left to cherish Jimmy’s memory is his mother, Susie Brooks; daughters, Alicia Brooks, Casandra Brooks, and Lauren Brooks-Castro; sister, Kim Brooks Delaune and husband, Al, their children, Colby Delaune and wife, Lauren Ann, Kelsey Parker, Preston Delaune, and Emilee Clason and husband, Hayden; and his wonderful life partner, Kerrie Conella, that was by his side every step of the way before and during his illness.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 7970 Mike Clark Rd. in Keithville, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Associate Pastor John Harp of Brookwood Baptist Church.
Jimmy will be terribly missed but as we grieve his passing, we find solace that he is now with his Lord and Savior, as well as other loved ones, surrounded in love and peace.
