It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Farris Theodore Brooks, Jr., who departed this life peacefully on November 30, 2025, in Hondo, Texas. He was born in Brownfield, Texas, on July 25, 1941. He graduated from Mission High School and attended Pan American University in Edinburg Texas.
Teddy had a 25 year career in law enforcement and achieved a National Championship with the State Shooting Team. After retirement, he started a small farm and ranch operation in Hondo, Texas.
He is survived by his loving wife: Jackie Sue Brooks; daughters: Shelly Grun (John), Patti Brooks, and Tammy Brooks; granddaughters: Marissa Furnish (Anthony), and Teddy Brooks; siblings: Doug Brooks, and Sharon Ann Denning, as well as close family friend Jesse Leal, along with many other family and friends that will miss him dearly.
Per the family’s request, there will be no services at this time.
Services are under the Direction of Hondo Funeral Home.
