James Richard Brown, Jr. was born on September 2, 1995 in Pittsburgh, PA. He was the second child born to Nicole Ballard. He departed this life un-expectantly on May 9, 2025.
James was educated in the Woodland Hills and Pittsburgh School Districts. He graduated from Pittsburgh Carrick in June 2013. He first worked in the Food Industry and was employed as a driver for Amazon at the time of his passing.
James was a devoted son, a cherished friend, and an adored family member. As one person wrote, "He was genuine, he was authentic, and had a good soul." His most valued title though was "Dad". James' unwavering love and dedication to his children is his Legacy. As James himself wrote on his Facebook page on April 30%, "My soul purpose of being who I am and staying strong is for my kids!!
James loved being their Dad and having his children together and with him was his greatest joy. Ja Kiya Rene, Jayda Nicole, Jay'Onna Rosalei, and James Richard, III were his crown jewels and the lights of his life.
James now rests peacefully and is reunited in Heaven with his precious daughter, Za'Riya Jhene and his paternal grandfather, James Richard Watson, Sr.
He leaves in God's care, his loving mother, Nicole Ballard; his four beautiful children; his brothers, Devaughn Eagleson and Rayshawn Deveauxbray, fiancé, Leilani Lopez); sister-in-law, Laquese Gatewood; his maternal grandparents, Percy and Rhonda Ballard; his paternal grandmothers, Sharon Brown Williams, and Jonelle Ruth Watson; favorite uncles, James Richard Watson, Jr. and Ryan Ballard; aunt, Carla Ballard; dear friend and mother of his twins, Ziarye Freeman; mother of Jayda, Ashley Armes; mother of Jay'Onna and James, III
- April Kackison; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
James' life though far too short, was filled with love, laughter, and loyalty. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten. His legacy lives on through his children and the countless lives he touched with his infectious personality.
