James Kirby Brown born August 8, 1959 departed this life on Tuesday – August 19, 2025 at the Hazard A.R.H. being 66-years old. Kirby was born in Hazard, Kentucky to Yvonne Hayes Brown and the late Walden Brown. Other than his father, Kirby was also preceded in death by his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Cotton & Shirley Sumner; great-granddaughter, Sawyer Brown. Kirby loved spending time with his family, he cherished each moment with his children and grandchildren especially. Kirby enjoyed having cookouts and the fellowship it brought with his family and friends.
James Kirby Brown leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: wife of 49-years, Vanessa Brown of Vicco, KY; son, Winfred Kirby Brown & Delana; daughter, Tiffany Brown; grandchildren, Jacob Brown & Cheyenne, Cameron Brown & Mykoria, Kaleigh Brown & Tyler, Baylee Cloud; great-granddaughter, Luna Brown; mother, Yvonne Brown; two brothers, Walden Brown, Jr. & Charlotte, and Gary Brown; two sisters, Barbara Hurd & Paul and Betty Pennington & Don; sister & brother-in-law, Connie & Terry Combs; brother-in-law, Timbo Sumner; special family, Chris Gibson, Aaliyah Gibson, Kaiden Gibson; nieces, Becky Shepherd and Kearstyn Davis; nephew, Kamdyn Shepherd; special friends, Denver Sumner, Keithel Collins, Danny Combs, Jim Couch, Bill Kirby, Jerry Kirby, Dave Caudill, and Hunter Fields; also a host of many other relatives & friends survive.
There will be a Visitation to celebrate the life of James Kirby Brown on Friday – August 22, 2025 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M.
