James J. Browne Jr.

James J. Browne Jr. 93 of Lemont IL died on January 14th, 2026.Devoted husband of 56 years of Patricia A. Browne, nee Maloney. Son of James J Browne Sr. and Honora (Moran) Browne. Loving brother of the late Marion Lynch and Jack Browne. Devoted father of Eileen Mundo and Patsy (Lance) Winterland. Cherished grandpa of Maria, Megan, Kevin Mundo and Emily, Annette, Lyle Winterland. Caring Uncle to many Lynch, Maloney and Quinn nieces and nephews, as well as their spouses. He was a man proud of his Irish heritage and revered his parents who raised him during the depression. He worked hard and was happy to provide for his lucky family. He enjoyed being involved in his daughters' sports and is fondly remembered for coaching little league softball. He served his country, adored his family, enjoyed many friends and neighbors over the years, loved animals, never passed up a conversation, and provided endless laughs to everyone he knew. Visitation will be held at Petkus Lemont Funeral Home on Sunday January 18 from 12-4 pm. Prayer service will be held Monday Jan 19 at 10:30 am at Petkus Lemont Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Alphonsus Church at 11:00 am. Entombment will be at a later date at the Abraham Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hope and Friendship Foundation of Lemont would be appreciated.
