It was sad for me to read this obituary. My first AF assignment as a 1st Lt was to Perrin AFB near Sherman Texas. Jim was my first NCOIC. We, more like he, ran the Registrar's Office (Medical Records Dept). I stayed in the AF for 26 years and we stayed in touch. At least one phone call a year. I had encouraged him to get a commission which he finally did. Jim was a real gentleman and a knowledgeable CEO and NCO. And an AF MSC Officer. I already miss our annual chats,

While we were Captains in the Air Force, Jim and I were stationed together at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. He retired as soon as he was eligible to pursue his favorite career as a Healthcare Services Administrator. He was a great administrator. Had he stayed in the Air Force longer he for certain would have achieved the grade of Colonel. I am saddened by his passing. Norm Paulsen, Lt Colonel, US Air Force retired.
