James (Jimmy) Butler Bryant (21 April 1946 - 22 Jun 2024)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of dear James (Jimmy) Butler Bryant, of Dallas, Georgia, from a sudden stroke on 22 June 2024. Jimmy passed away at Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center.
Jimmy was born in Atlanta, Georgia on 21 April 1946 to Fred Enoch and Ruby Bryant, and he filled our lives with love from the moment he came into the world. He loved to play in the woods with his brothers, and build forts from the surrounding forest. He attended Dallas High School in Dallas, Georgia, and joined the Army in 1966. After the Army, Jimmy worked at Lockheed Martin for many years as a Mechanic, and worked on C-5B and C-130 programs until retirement.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents Fred Enoch and Ruby Bryant, his brothers Robert (Bob), Billy, and Dennis, and is survived by his wife Cheryl Collum Bryant, daughter Julie Sockwell (David), daughter Jill Roberson (Todd), step daughter Shannon Collum Stafford (Joel), and grandchildren Hailey Ward (Ryan), Caleb Haught (Katie), Logan Haught, Henry Haught, Oliva Perez, Chloe Perez, Kaci Roberson, and Silas Deacon Stafford
A Memorial service will be held at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory. All friends and family are welcome and appreciated.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests Donations to Wellstar Kennestone Neurology Department, and/or the Wellstar Kennestone Rehabilitaion Center.
