James Buck Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Felix H. Morales Funeral Home - Northside on Dec. 10, 2025.
James Duane Buck, age 47, of Houston, entered into eternal rest on December 5, 2025. He was born on November 9, 1978, in Pasadena, Texas.
James proudly served his country as a U.S. Army veteran and later built a dedicated career with MC2 Civil Engineering. Above all, he cherished being a father-his sons were truly the center of his world, and his wife Amanda was the love he stood beside through every chapter of life.
James was known for his quick wit, dark sense of humor, and ability to make any situation hilarious. His laugh was infectious, and he had a way of lifting the spirits of everyone around him. He loved deeply, helped freely, and was always the first to step in when someone needed anything. His nieces and nephews adored "Uncle Jimmy," often calling him to join them on their nights out because they knew he brought fun wherever he went.
James is preceded in death by his grandfather, H.E. Major, and his grandmother, Bettie Cowley Major.
He is survived by his beloved family, including his wife, Amanda Buck; his two sons, Ethan Buck and Isaiah Buck; his parents, Bettie and Tom Roe; his biological father, Barry (Terry) Buck; his loyal pets, Teagan, Maggie, and Ruxin; his uncle, Brent Major; mother-in-law, Carol Maddox; six sisters, Theresa (Daryl) Alltop, Karen Roe, Melissa (Kevin) Roe, Carrie (Billy) Cochenour, Jennifer Roe, and Danielle Sparks; three brothers, Thomas (Tammy) Roe Jr., Michael (Mandy) Roe, and Mateo Sparks; as well as countless nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Service will be held on December 13, 2025, at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 600 Pecore St., Houston, TX 77009 at 2:00 p.m., with a reception to follow.
