JAMES B. BURCHELL
James B. Burchell, 73, of Jackson Township, PA was called home and reunited with his sons in Heaven on October 12, 2024, with his family by his side. His sons, Jimmy predeceased him in 2004 and Timothy in 1973. He is the son of the late Robert and Wanda Burchell. He was also predeceased by his nephews, Billy Burchell and Bobby Burchell.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Susie; his daughters, Beth (Kevin) Davis, Heather (Jason) Martin, and Amy (Chris) Burchell-Girts; eight grandchildren, Benjamin, Olivia (Jarrett), Noah, Emma, Owen, Ryan, Abby, and Esther; his brothers, Donnie (Elaine), Bobby (Diane), Tom, and Bill (Margo); a sister, Carol Weigel; numerous nieces and nephews; his "other daughter" Darlene (Todd) Thomas; and his faithful companion dog, Gracie.
Jim served with the United States Marines. He was employed by Asplundh Tree Company and with Proctor & Gamble until his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman who appreciated the beauty of the Mountains, hunting, trapping, and fishing. Jim enjoyed sharing his vast outdoor knowledge with others. He was humble and content. Jim was kind, and compassionate, always looking out for the needs of others. He loved his family, watching movies, listening to music, telling stories, baking breads, pies, and cinnamon rolls, and various outdoor activities with them, especially walking on Ridge Road with the love of his life, Susie. "We are so blessed the same God, who created the Mountains, looked at you and knew we needed you. We are thankful for your life well lived."
A memorial service will be held at noon, on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at the Bridgwater Church, Hallstead Campus. Friends may call from 10-12 at the church prior to the service. Inurnment will be made in Lakeview Cemetery. In his memory, the family suggests taking a walk in nature and enjoy the beauty with your family.
