James Burnette Obituary

James Burnette Jr.

James Burnette Jr. born on November 23,1940 to Lilian Klein Burnette and James Burnette Sr. in Mosheim TN. who also preceded him in death, along with his brother Samual Burnette, a son James Burnette III, and a granddaughter Kyleen Burnette.

James spent his youth in Mosheim forming his appreciation for all critters great and small. Learning about and developing a good work ethic. He traveled about looking for work and settled in Chicago where he met Geraldine Saflarski and married in 1962.

After retirement, you could find him on the front or back porch sitting, enjoying wildlife and contemplating conversation. We will miss you Big Jim.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Geraldine Burnette. Three children, Kathrine (Bob) Strissell of Mosheim, David (Sarah) Burnette of Afton TN, and Jeffrey (Paula) Burnette of Carpentersville IL. Twelve grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Several in-laws, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 4-6 pm at Jeffers Funeral Service downtown.
