Born on March 2, 1959, in Toms River, New Jersey, James lived a life marked by unwavering faith, deep devotion to his family, and a tireless commitment to serving others. For over 25 years, James dedicated his professional life to ensuring the safety of others as a fire and safety technician and inspector. He worked with Space Coast Fire & Safety and later with Cintas, Inc., where his reliability and care left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike.James served in United States Air Force for 6 years as a jet engine mechanic. James carried the values of service and discipline throughout his life. His greatest mission, however, was one of faith. A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, James was known for sharing the gospel wherever he went-from the depths of the Amazon to the steppes of Mongolia and the communities of Honduras. To him, "the world was his church." He never missed an opportunity to pray and share hope and love through the gospel.Locally, James was deeply involved with East Coast Christian Center (ECCC), where he poured his heart into several ministries close to him. Whether teaching youth classes, serving in the jail ministry, or helping at the food pantry, James gave generously of his time and spirit. His presence brought comfort and encouragement to many within his community.James found joy in simple pleasures-especially fishing-and even more so when surrounded by family and friends. He was especially proud of his mangos when they came into harvest. If your timing was lucky enough, he either blessed you with his homemade mango juice or slushy. His refuge was his back porch watching the birds and reading his bible and then eventually get into his hot tube to finish his R&R.He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Angeles S. Burnham; sons Eugene and Noah Burnham of Tampa; parents James and Patricia Burnham, Sr. of Jacksonville; sister Barbara (Barry) McMahon of Jacksonville; as well as nieces and nephews across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Oklahoma, and Florida. He was preceded in death by his sister Susan (Will) Armenti.James will be remembered as faithful to the Lord and to those whom he loved. He was dependable in every sense of the word – caring, sensitive, helpful. He loved people fearlessly. He left an imprint in your life with his gentle, delightful smile or his quirky sense of humor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim Burnham's name to East Coast Christian Center's jail or youth ministry or their food pantry-causes that reflect the heart of a man who lived to serve. Also, his alma mater, Teen Missions, Inc. which trained, equipped and commissioned him to answer the call. Matt. 28:18-20May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him. Truly"
