James Butera, 56 of Rochester, NY passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026 with his sisters by his side.
James is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Mary Butera. He is survived by his sisters Josette (Joe) Taylor & Traci (Maureen Wheelden) Butera. He is also survived by his niece Juliana Taylor and his aunt Judy Felter, along with several cousins.
James lived most of his adult life in constant physical pain that kept him from the active life he deserved. His family takes comfort in knowing he is now free from the physical limitations that defined his daily reality. James is finally at peace and at rest.
We would like to thank his dear friends John Scowcroft and Melissa Sutter for their kindness, care and companionship to James through the years especially as his health started to decline.
Per his request services will be private.
