June 15, 1943 - March 29, 2026
James Robert Callahan age 82 of New Tazewell, TN left this world March 29, 2029, to begin his eternal life in Heaven. As Jim would say "I spent a lot of time in this life to prepare for the next ".
Jim was born in Bromley, KY June 15, 1943, to Robert & Kathryn (Webster) Callahan. Jim is survived by his wife Rebecca Ann Callahan, daughters Kelly Callahan & Kara Callahan-Schulte, stepsons, Creig (Tonya) Kimbro & Michael Kimbro. Jim was a loving grandfather to 11 grandchildren & 11 great-grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his late wife, Linda Baker Callahan, parents Robert & Kathryn Callahan, daughter Kimberly Callahan, sister Edna Blaker & son-in-law Paul "Tres" Schulte.
Jim graduated from Dixie Heights High School, Erlanger, KY, worked in the trucking industry & in his late 40's, followed his calling by graduating from Southwest Institute of Biblical Studies (formerly ETSOP). Jim went on to be minister of Harrogate Church of Christ, Harrogate, TN. Garrad Street Church of Christ, Covington, KY &b retired from Tazewell Church of Christ, Tazewell, TN.
A celebration of life for Jim will be held Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at Tazewell Church of Christ 1065 Tazewell Road, Tazewell, TN 37879.
