James Lee Campbell, 81, a longtime resident of Dry Run, went to be with the Lord on November 17, 2025, at Paramount Senior Living in Fayetteville, PA.

Born March 24, 1944, in Dry Run, he was the son of the late Paul James Campbell and Dorothy Baker Campbell.

Jim graduated from Fannett-Metal High School in 1962. After graduation he owned and operated a chicken farm. At the age of nineteen, he was the lone survivor of a plane crash. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and several other gun organizations. Jim was a member of the Upper Path Valley Presbyterian Church, Past-President of the Spring Run Cable Company, a member of the George Washington Masonic Lodge #143 of Chambersburg, and Path Valley Picnic Parade emcee for numerous years.

He is survived by a sister, Patricia Allison (husband Donnie) of Dry Run, three nieces, Julie Watkins (husband Dan) of Shippensburg, Jacki Cook (husband Mark) of Doylesburg, Melissa Kelly (husband Michael) of York, three great-nephews (Damon, Wade, and Kaeden), and three great-nieces (Janae, Laken, and Reese), and daughter-in-law, Gayle Parks of Texas. He was preceded in death by an adopted son, Michael Parks.

The family will receive friends on November 28, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run. Memorial service will start at 11:00 AM. The Reverend Dr. Meagan M. Boozer will officiate.

We only knew each other for about 17 years but it seemed so much longer than that. You became a friend and a mentor. You taught Jaret gun safety and how to shoot. We talked a lot about guns and politics and watched westerns and lots of Fox News. Had a lot of laughs despite the days you had a lot of pain. You were stubborn as a mule some days but we got through it.
You're surrounded by your family, Teddy, Blackie and Tiger and in the arms of Jesus! I'm so glad you beat the odds so many years ago. You lived a life no one thought you would and I got to spend a small part of my life getting to know you. See you again one day dear friend.
