Violet Davis Obituary
She was born February 16, 1945, in the family home in Amberson, a daughter of the late Emanuel J. and Minnie M. (Hockenberry) Hammond. Violet graduated from Fannett-Metal High School in 1964.
She had been employed as an inspector with Hoffman Mills in Shippensburg for 30 years until its closing in 2005.
Violet was a life member of American Legion Post 223 and Durff-Kuhn VFW Post 6168 both of Shippensburg.
Violet loved her family, her daughter, Michelle E. Dziadyk (Johnny), Shippensburg, her 3 granddaughters, Jennifer Howard, Cynthia Dodd and Rachel Brunson (Noah) and her great grandson, Silas Brunson. Also surviving is a sister, Shirley Reilly of Fannettsburg and a special niece, Wanda Neil Daverport along with additional nieces and nephews and her cat, Angel.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jane Neil and 5 brothers, Wayne Gamble Hammond, Herbert Clair Hammond, Miles Irvin Hammond, Edward J. Hammond and Paul Earl Hammond.
Arrangements are private with Agett-Lakjer, Spring Run.
