Sara S. Kepner

YORK – Sara (Skiles) Kepner, 64 of York, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at her home in York, PA. She was the wife of William E. Kepner, whom she married 40 years ago on June 22, 1985.

Sara was born on May 18, 1961, in Lancaster, PA and was the daughter of Kenneth A. Skiles of Narvon, PA and the late Anna (Greenleaf) Skiles.

She graduated from Pequea Valley High School in Lancaster, PA, McDaniel College in Westminster, MD, Shippensburg University in Shippensburg, PA and Penn State University in State College. She was employed by the Spring Grove Area School District serving as a teacher for 5th and 6th graders. She enjoyed reading books and was a member of Real God Church in York, PA where she was involved with church activities.

In addition to her husband, Sara is survived by her children, Katherine A. Snyder and her husband Dylan of Cabot, PA, and Rylan R. Kepner of Washington, DC; her sisters, Michelle Rodgers and her husband Steven of Lititz, PA, and Susan Martin and her husband Clifford of Leola, PA, and her brother, Jere Skiles and his wife Jan of Narvon, PA.

A celebration of life service for Sara will begin at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf, PA. Her visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 AM, Saturday, at the funeral home. Her burial will be private with her family. Officiating at her service will be Pastor Kevin Cross.

Sara and I were dear friends and sisters in Christ. Our enjoyment of cooking together and playing board games, as well as worshipping and studying the Bible together will always be remembered and cherished.
