James Edgar Carnathan, 83, of East Millsboro passed away peacefully in his home on September 23, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 25, 1941 in East Millsboro. Jim was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who touched the lives of many with his kindness and generosity.
After graduating from John A. Brashear High School in Brownsville, PA, in 1960, Jim went on to work at the Cokeburg Steel Mill and went on to have a successful career with CONSOL Energy for 20-plus years where he received multiple awards for his exceptional work.
He enjoyed taking his grandkids fishing and spending quality time with family and friends.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Joyce Lent Carnathan; his children, Dawn Carnathan, Jim Carnathan and wife Lori, Joyce Ruffcorn and husband Larry; his cherished grandchildren, Britany Gnus and husband Phil, Jacob Carnathan, Abigail Carnathan, Nathaniel Carnathan; his great-grandchildren Harper and Haisley Gnus; his sister Patricia Lent; and his beloved dog, Max. Jim was predeceased by his brothers Walter and Terry Carnathan.
Jim will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, Inc., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, PA. Per Jim's request there will no funeral or memorial service.
