James Carter Obituary
James Henry Carter, 83, of 3104 Burton Drive, Fayetteville, passed away on Monday, October 09, 2023 at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 11am at Herring Funeral Care & Cremations Chapel. Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Moore-Carter of the home. Sons: Shaun Woolford Carter, Yonkers, NY, William Carter (Olivia), Bronx, NY, James Carter, Jr. Bronx, NY Daughters: Linda Johnson (preceded James in death), Joyce Carter, Jacksonville, FL, Deborah Jackson, Savannah, GA, Denise Carter, Bronx, NY Jennifer Carter, Bronx, NY Patricia Carter, Bronx, NY. A brother; William 'Billy' Wright (Shirley), Savannah, GA, along with eighteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-7pm.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Fayetteville State University Athletic Program (Memo: Memory of James H. Carter).
