James Carter Obituary
James spent his early childhood in Florida and moved to Temple, Texas, at the age of nine, where he was raised, and later graduated from Temple High School in 1985. Following high school, James proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his military service, he spent a few years working along the Gulf Coast, working in different shipping industries, including the time working on push barges up and down the Mississippi and intracoastal waterways. He left the coast to move on too many years working as a truck driver, a career that suited his love for the open road and a life of independence. He truly loved life on the road. James was of the Pentecostal faith and was baptized. He gave freely to many different charities, including organizations to feed hungry children around the world. In later years, he settled in Texas City, where he made his home. James will be remembered for his years of service, his hardworking spirit, and the many miles and memories he made along the way.
James was preceded in death by his father, Jack, his brothers Jack Richard Carter, Charles Edward Carter and sister Tammy Carter.
James leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother, Bertha Carter of Kosse: brothers Brian Carter of Kosse, Robert Carter and wife Connie of Temple, William Carter of Kosse, and Jason Carter and wife Amanda of Temple; sister Sheila Carter of Pasadena, and nine nephews and one niece along with numerous friends.
A funeral service for James will be held at Hewett-Arney Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 1 o'clock p.m. with Rev. Robert Carter officiating. The family will be accepting visitors at the funeral home two hours prior to the service. Following the service, James will be interred in Cloverhill Cemetery in Lott.

My entire teenage yrs were spent running around with you , and to have reconnected after 40 yrs was great . This is sad news yyyy ou will be missed .
