Jim and I were both involved in Mobil´s efforts in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Spending time together in that part of the world was a great way to relieve the work stress. Our time in Texas was a lot more fun as were the frozen Margueritas.
Jim spent much of his time talking about Jamie. She was the light in his life. I will miss our conversations He and my aunt Caroline spent many meals together in his last years. He would fill me in on their conversations.
Rest in peace my dear friend.

Had the privilege of meeting "Mr. Jim" a few years ago as we both worshipped together where he lived at Village Waterway in The Woodlands. Even though we'd have a crowd of perhaps 50-60 each week, Jim would always wait for me after service so would could have nice "after glow" chat about the Bible lesson that day, Baylor football (lol) and or the sermons he watched previously that day on TV! He was always encouraging, and while sitting near the back row during service, he'd joke "that's me, a 'backrow Baptist'" lol.
I will miss our chats and his friendship, and he is greatly missed at The Village. That said, I'm so grateful for his strong faith in Christ, and that fact that he has now "graduated" to where there is not longer health pain or wheel cheers; where Paul and Jesus called "Paradise"! Enjoy Jim!
Sincerely, Jim O'Connor
