James Chambers Obituary
James E. "Jim" Chambers, 85, Williamstown, WV formerly of St. Marys, WV passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at WVU Medicine Ruby Memorial Hospital with his three children by his side. Born in Pecks Mill, WV, on July 8, 1940, he was the son of the late Raymond "Smokey" and Bessie Browning Chambers. He was a resident of Henry Camp Road in St. Marys, WV, for over 40 years. He retired from the O. Ames Company in Parkersburg, WV, in 2001 after 35 years of service. In recent years, James became a proud member of the Williamstown Lions Club. He enjoyed playing slot machines, vegetable gardening, watching Western Movies, watching boxing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
James is survived by his three children, his son, Mike (Bonni) Chambers, St. Marys, WV, his daughter, Lisa (David) Colvin, Marietta, OH, and his son, Bill (Brittany) Chambers, Parkersburg, WV; was also a beloved "Pa" or "Pop Pop" to seven grandchildren, Bethani, Britani, Lindsey, Aimee, Jonathan, Carson, and Raelee; proud great-grandfather to his great-grandson, Jack; one brother, Burl (Debbie) Chambers, Elizabeth, WV; and two sisters, Betty Darlen Hayes, Rockledge, FL, and Karen Sue (Robert) Daniels, Melbourne, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Charles Chamber, and Ronald Chambers, and by his loving wife of 60 years, Phyllis Chambers.
Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV with Pastor Mark Mayfield officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Island Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 P.M. Friday and 10 to 11 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home. An online guest register is available at www.ingramfh.com.
