James E. "Dick" Chapman, 81 husband of Peggy Massingill Chapman, passed away Wednesday, February 15 at his home in Woodford County, KY. Born June 29, 1941 in Jessamine County, KY, he was the son of the late Mosie and Minnie York Chapman. Mr. Chapman was a member of Clover Bottom Baptist Church and served as a deacon. He was a lifelong farmer and ran his own farm for 60+ years and could fix anything mechanical. Along with his wife Peggy he is survived by 2 children, Michael E. (Lisa) Chapman and Cindy Jewell; six grandchildren, Todd Chapman, Josh (Sam) Jewell, Ashley (Charles) Fuller, Caleb (Sadie) Chapman, Noah Chapman and Shelby Chapman; three great grandchildren, Landon Fuller, Liam Fuller and Freyah Jewell. He was preceded in death by a son, Patrick Chapman and a son in law, Jeffery Jewell. Funeral services for Dick will be 2pm Tuesday, February 21 at Kerr Brothers-Harrodsburg Road with Pastor Dale Ragland and Pastor Bobby Proctor officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens in Nicholasville, KY. Visitation will be 11am till the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be Josh Jewell, Caleb Chapman, Noah Chapman, Bryan Hager, James Hager and Charles Fuller. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Spaulding, Foister Taylor, Bruce Scott and Shorty Hahn.
