James Chrisman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Millennium Funeral Home & Crematory - Okeechobee on Mar. 18, 2026.
James "Jim" Chrisman, 82, of Okeechobee, passed away on March 18, 2026. He was born on September 14, 1943, in Crawfordsville, Indiana.

Jim is survived by his devoted wife, Jeanie Chrisman; his children Jimmy, Paul, Kim, Maggie, and Dickie; his grandchildren Dewey, Joseph, Ricia, Max, Daniel, Amanda, Rachel, Rickie, and Stephanie; and his fourteen great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Greg, Pat, and Freda. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Sue Chrisman, and his sister Kim Chrisman.

Jim is fondly remembered as a hardworking and caring individual who truly enjoyed staying active and supporting others. He generously dedicated 30 years to IndyGo, the transportation service in Indianapolis, and spent 22 years running his own lawn care business, Papa Bear Lawn Care. Additionally, he proudly served for 13 years as a police officer in Indiana.
He loved his dogs, Luna and Nala, as deeply as family. Jim enjoyed volunteering at church and participating in food drives, always eager to lend a hand. He touched more lives than he ever realized, and his kindness and steady presence will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held at Millennium Funeral Home, located at 3833 SE 18th Terrace, Okeechobee, FL, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, located at 901 SW Sixth St., Okeechobee, FL, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
