Sheila May Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Buxton & Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home and Crematory on Mar. 18, 2026.
Sheila Lynn May, 50

Sheila Lynn May died on February 28, 2026. She was born on March 19, 1975 in Broward, Florida. A resident of Okeechobee for more than five years, she enjoyed drawing and music.

Sheila was a unique soul, a true life of the party type of woman, full of love, life, and FUN! She was super easy to talk to; you could tell her anything and she wouldn't show any judgement. If someone was lost, her way to help solve the issue might have been wild, but her experience in this life was never calm.

Her family hopes she's having one heck of a party up there with Nana, Auntie Julie, and Papa. They hope she is playing with Austin, squishing him up like she was always meant to be. "We love you Mom, hope you found peace up there. We'll see you. We love you. Later Ma!"

Sheila was preceded in death by her son, Austin May; mother, Janice Wall; stepfather, John Wall; and aunt, Julie Wazinek.

She is survived by her boyfriend, Mike Thornton; sons, Joshua May and Drake May; daughters, Zoe May and Kaytalynn May; grandchildren, Eli Best, Kash Cox, and Ethan Cox; brother, Robert May; and niece, Allicia May.

No services will be held.
