My daughter and I had the honour to meet Jim at the hockey night in Boston tournament 2 years ago. She was an extra and we bonded with coach Jim right away. So much that we spent the week end chatting and kept a friendship until he passed away. I have been sending him pics and updates on sofia and knew how proud he was of her. He will be missed eventhough we met him for a short time. He was a special person who will be missed. Wish you all strength., love and peace. Your memories will last a lifetime.

Where do I begin....Coach Jim was my daughter Sam's 1st travel hockey Coach for Sabres 14U back in 2017. This man was such an inspiration and role model for his hockey girls. That was the best year my daughter had in travel and also for us parents. Even when my daughter moved up to 19U, Coach Jim would still come to the rink to watch her and the other girls play, they were all like his own children. Once Covid hit plus a hand injury my daughter stopped playing but Coach Jim would try and get her to play again before she aged out, especially since he was coaching the 19U girls at the time, he wanted her back on his team, unfortunately she never did play again. He even came to her graduation party in 2021. Looking back at memories I wished him a Happy Birthday on Facebook this year and his reply was "Thanks Janet, give my girl Sam a hug for me" this is the wonderful, kind, generous person he was and we will all remember. He would even text us hockey Moms on Mother's Day just to wish us a Happy Mother's Day and also to ask about the family. We are heartbroken but are blessed with such wonderful memories we will cherish forever. Please know we are thinking and praying for the entire Clare family. RIP Coach, you will be missed by so many!

So very sorry to hear of Jim´s passing. I have fond memories of playing high school hockey together, especially when we´re lucky enough to play in the old Boston Garden.
Rest in peace Jim

Where do I begin....Coach Jim was a wonderful man overall. He was my daughter Sam's 1st travel coach for the Sabres 14U back in 2017. That was the best year we ever had while she played. The memories we made were ones we will never forget. He was such an inspiration and role model for the girls. He loved all the girls like they were his own kids. My daughter then moved up to 19U but Coach Jim would always make it a point to come watch her and the other girls play when he could, especially when they made it to state. He was always around cheering them on. My daughter only played for a few years then Covid hit and she had a hand injury and never went back to playing. Coach Jim tried to get her to play one last year before she aged out, at that time he was coaching the 19U girls and wanted her back on his team but he never did get his way unfortunately. Even after hockey was over for her he continued to ask about her to see how she was doing, he even came to her graduation party in 2021. This man cared so much for others, this is who he was as a human. He would group text us Moms on Mother's Day just to wish us a Happy Mother's Day and ask about the family, always thinking of others. Looking back at memories...I wished him a Happy Birthday on Facebook this year, he comes back with "Thanks Janet, give my girl Sam a hug for me" again....always thinking of his girls. We are heartbroken to lose such a wonderful man but are blessed with all the memories we have of him. Please know we are thinking and praying for the entire Clare family.
