James Clark Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory - Frankfort on Feb. 26, 2026.
James M. "Jimmy" Clark, 87, of Frankfort, Kentucky passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, after a brief illness. Services will be held 1:00 p.m. at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Monday, March 2, 2026. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Monday.

Jimmy was born March 7, 1938, to the late J.D. Clark and Gladys Wright Clark. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church; and the Frankfort Optimist Club where he served in many leadership positions.

Jimmy retired from Farmers Bank and Capital Trust Co. after 37 years of service. After retirement, he managed a research project for the University of Kentucky and the state Transportation Cabinet. He also enjoyed his time working the door and driving for Harrod Brothers Funeral Home, where he hoped to be of service to others in their time of sorrow.

He also served one-year active duty with the 100th Division, U.S. Army Reserves.

Jimmy is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Nannie Hosley Clark; a daughter, Ricki Gardenhire (Robert); his granddaughters, Meagan Hart (John), Daneil Clark, and Elizabeth Gardenhire; and his great-grandson, Miles S. Hart.

Serving as pallbearers will be John S. Hart, Timmy Hosley, J.C. Hosley, Brad Peach, Greg Peach, and Chad Peach. Honorary pallbearers are his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel M. Clark; and brother, Mim Carol Clark.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, where Jimmy was a faithful servant for more than 60 years.

Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory. Condolences may be shared via the online guestbook at www.harrodbrothers.com
