James Cloud Obituary
Burial will be at the VA Memorial Cemetery in Lubbock Texas upon its completion.
He died on April 21, 2025, and he was born July 11, 1946, in Carlsbad New Mexico.
Jim Cloud was born in Carlsbad NM on July 11, 1946, to James Cloud Sr. and Blanche "Marie" Cloud. He was the oldest brother to Jerry, Jack and Johnny Cloud. He grew up in Lubbock TX and graduated from Monterey High School. He served in the Navy and upon his return he owned and operated several businesses. He also drove a truck for most of his life and hauled cotton modules until 2023. Battling deafness for most of his life, he was an avid reader and observer. He loved to learn about all different subjects. He also enjoyed gardening, raising livestock and visiting with family, friends and never met a stranger. He always loved a good trade and a new project. One of Jims common phrases was "I just have a little trouble getting my ducks in a row."
Those to cherish his memory include his son James Cloud and wife Christie. His Grandson Dustin Cloud and granddaughter Jacie Duboise and husband Aaron. As well as his five great grandchildren Copelin Cloud, Connor Billings, Morgan Duboise, Mallorie Duboise and Jackson Duboise.
He is proceeded in death by his wife of 26 years Paulette Cloud, his parents, brothers and two grandchildren T.J. and Amanda.
The family ask that in lieu of flowers please make donations to the Senior Citizen Center in Slaton TX.
