James Wesley Cochran, 79, of Thomasville, passed away on February 26, 2026. He was born on June 6, 1946, in Boston, GA, to the late William Frank Cochran and Susie Jane Watt Cochran.
Known fondly as the Peanut Man, Wesley spent years selling boiled peanuts, bringing joy and a taste of Southern tradition to those around him. He found happiness in sharing his love for country music, often playing and singing with friends and family, his passion echoing in the hearts of many. An avid fisherman, Wesley cherished quiet moments by the water, always appreciating nature's beauty.
Survivors include his wife Carolyn Jordan, his daughters Sara Jane Castleberry, LaDonna M. Hancock (Richard), and Lichelle Green (Jason), and his son Billy Jordan (Tina); siblings Roger Cochran (June), Inez Batson, and Sue Turner; grandchildren Madonna Tally, Michael Tally, Christopher Tally, Audrey Hart, Wesley Hancock, Destiny and Deanna Cochran, Jalen, and Madison Mackey, followed by numerous great-grandchildren.
Wesley is preceded in death by his siblings Norwood Cochran, Bobby Cochran, Harold Cochran, Tommy Cochran, and Ronnie Cochran.
A service will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 4 pm at Allen & Allen Funeral Home with Pastor Ronald Kirkland officiating. The family will receive friends from 3-4 pm prior to the service. Wesley will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
