James "Jim" Edward Coleman, Jr., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at the age of 89.
Born in Atlanta, he was a son of the late James Edward Coleman, Sr. and Sarah Jimmerson Coleman. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1958. He was a member of the Red Coat Band. After working at First National Bank of Atlanta, he worked for 48 years as a manufacturer's rep, selling medical supplies for various medical companies ("baggy pants saleman" if you asked Jim). Favorite hobbies include running, weight lifting, dogs, spending time with his family at the beach and talking to anyone who would listen. Anyone who met Jim knew he never met a stranger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Scott Coleman and his brother, Charles Ronald Coleman.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Jean Witcher Coleman and their daughter, Jill Shannon Coleman and his nephews Charles and Alex Coleman.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.Lord and Stephens, West is in charge of arrangements.
