James Christopher "Chris" Conley, a cherished member of the Marion community, passed away on September 5, 2024, at Carepartners Hospice Solace Center. Born May 24, 1972 in Wilmington, North Carolina, Chris's life was marked by his unwavering spirit, love for his family, and dedication to his career.
Chris proudly served his country as a United States Marine, an experience that shaped his character and instilled a sense of discipline and camaraderie that he carried throughout his life. After his military service, he went on to work as a food service officer at the Marion Correctional Institution, where he served with pride and commitment.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Chris was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Christina "Chris" Beam Conley, and his children: Alldyn Conley, Jordyn Conley and her husband Ettore Da Tos, Madison Conley and her husband Alex Rocha, and his sister Jennifer Conley and her husband Mark Whitted. His mother, Pam Crain and husband Dennis, also survive.
Chris was predeceased by his father, James Michael Conley.
A man of varied interests, Chris found great joy in sports, passionately supporting the Kansas City Chiefs, Duke Blue Devils, and Atlanta Braves. He enjoyed cooking and sharing meals with loved ones, and he relished time spent on the golf course. Music held a special place in his heart; his enthusiasm for playing the drums brought rhythm and joy into his life.
Chris's visitation will take place on September 11, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory in Marion, North Carolina, followed by a funeral service from 12:00 PM.
His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, marked by the love he shared and the laughter he brought to every gathering. Chris Conley's legacy of kindness and passion for life will forever be remembered and cherished.
