James Knox Cutler, age 86, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

Born on March 15, 1939, in Obion, TN, he was the beloved son of the late Nathan and Mary Yates Cutler. James dedicated 35 years of his life working as a mechanic with the Dyer County Board of Education Bus Shop. He had a passion for stockcar and drag racing and was a cherished member of the Holy Hills Baptist Church. James proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2025 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Jeremy Ballinger and Bro. James Adair officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery. The family will receive visitors beginning at 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Survivors include his three sons, J.C. Cutler (Cheryl), George Cutler (Pennie) and Greg Cutler (Melinda) all of Dyersburg, TN; a brother, Nathan T. Cutler (Vickie) of Obion County, TN; a sister, Cathy Mayse of Obion County, TN; four grandchildren, Brandie Brimm, Jamie Cutler, J.R. Cutler (Jessica) and Madison Bailey; four greatgrandchildren, Shawn Cutler, Eli Cutler, Ali Adams and Makayla Brimm; and one great-greatgrandchild, Eli Rogers.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Luna Cutler; and a sister, Sharon Woodley.

Serving as pallbearers will be James R. Cutler, Tim Knapp, Shannon Walker, Eli Walker, David Lynn and Cotton Baker. Honorary pallbearer will be Mike Epperson.
