A Celebration of Life service for James Kay Darst, 77 of Kingfisher, formerly of Enid, will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Central Assembly of God. Arrangements are with Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory. James was born on October 30, 1947, in Ashland, Kansas to Merle James and Maxine (Roley) Darst and passed away on July 31, 2025, in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. He married Patricia (Claytor) Darst on September 13, 1966, in Sand Springs, Oklahoma and they had four children: Tim, Danny, Nathan, and Spencer Darst. James served in the Army from 1967-1971. He worked in electrical engineering from 1971-1976 and then in agriculture management from 1976-2023. He played basketball for Midwest Christian College and the US Army. James loved spending time with his family, enjoyed fishing and hunting, working in the yard and around the house. James faithfully served the church for over 50 years, dedicating his heart and gifts as worship leader, Sunday school teacher, and Elder. His commitment and spiritual leadership left a lasting legacy of grace, wisdom, and love. James is survived by his wife, Patricia; 3 children Tim Darst and wife LeAnn, Danny Darst and wife Michelle, and Nathan Darst and wife Sheila; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother Ron Darst; and sister Linda Cook. He is preceded in death by his parents and his son Spencer Alan. Memorials may be made through Anderson-Burris to Central Assembly of God or Lifeway Church in Kingfisher.
