James Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lawry Brothers Funeral Home - Fairfield on Feb. 17, 2025.
James A. Davis, Jr., 83, of Clinton, ME, died Monday, February 10, 2025, at Maine General Medical Center after a brief illness, with his loving wife, Louise, daughter Jodi, and sister Cheryl by his side.
Born in Waterville, ME, to the late James A. Davis, Sr. and Fatina S. (Duty), he was raised alongside three siblings, of whom he is survived by his sister, Cheryl Walker of Benton, ME, and his brother Ronald Davis (wife Linda) of El Paso, TX. His beloved sister, Debra Davis, passed away in November 2024. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara (Ridley) Davis, the mother of their four children, and his second wife, Georgine Y. Davis.
James leaves behind his cherished wife and best friend, Louise (Menard) Davis, of Clinton, ME. For the past eight years, they enjoyed many relaxing drives, exploring the lakes and coastlines of Maine, a state he loved deeply and wanted to share with Louise. He leaves behind a wealth of stories and adventures shared with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by four beloved daughters: Christina (Dave Joder) of Colorado, Penni (Rick Wetzbarger) of Colorado, Jamie (Benjamin Cevelo) of Massachusetts, and Jodi (Davis) Perreault of NH. He also had three stepchildren: Deborah Reardon, Suzanne Leps, and Brandon Harris.
James was blessed with five wonderful grandchildren: Meghan, Emily, Sarah, Lucy, and Kim, along with six great-grandchildren, whom he adored and proudly spoke of whenever given the chance.
A mass will be held in honor of James, with a memorial service planned for the spring when family and friends can gather to celebrate his life, remembering James, Jimmy, Jim, Dad, and Grampie as we all knew and loved him.
Arrangements are in the care of Veilleux-Redington-Lawry Brothers, 8 Elm Street, Waterville, where memories of James may be shared, and an online register book can be signed by visiting www.vrlfuneralhome.com.
