James Allen Davis, 74, of Qulin, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, in his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on May 9, 1951, in Essex, Missouri, to Russell Davis and Della (McCurry) Davis. On September 10, 1994, in Williamsville, Missouri James married Ruth Galiher.
He was a long-time resident of Butler County. James was a Mason for 50 years; a member of the Teamsters; and Bluff City Eagles. He enjoyed playing pool, playing card, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.
James is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Davis; one step-daughter Lea Ann Lockwood of Mr. Vernon, Illinois; one brother, Brian Lewallen of Grandin; one sister Sue (Mark) Brewer of Poplar Bluff; four sisters-in-law, Joyce (Clint) Wade, Doris (Ron) Ozee; and Vicki (David) Porter; one brother-in-law, Carl (Nora) Galiher; special family members, Chris Estes, Elissa Estes, Jaxon Estes, and Emma Estes; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Della Davis; one daughter, Lisa Marie Davis; two brothers, Mark Lewallen, and David Lewallen; and two sisters, Brenda Hiles, and Patricia Ritchey. A host of family and friends survive.
Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home at 366 College Street, Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Funeral Service will be at 12:00 p.m. at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Chapel with Chaplin Callum Reavey officiating. Interment will follow funeral service at Brown Chapel Cemetery of Broseley, Missouri. Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home is assisting with all arrangements.
