My sincere condolences to Mr. Deaver´s family and friends. His parents lived next door to my grandmother and I have lots of memories with Carol and Waldo when I was really young. All the talks and coffee (I got Tang or orange juice) at the table whenever any of the Deaver kids and grandkids would visit. God Bless all of you.. so very sorry for your loss.

Mr. Deaver was the embodiment of what it means or should mean, to be a teacher of high school students. I remember him so well even though it´s been more than 50 years since my high school biology class. And yet, I think of him often, especially when taking walks with my dog and viewing the nature that surrounds us. Some people have a long-lasting effect on others. Mr. Deaver is one of those rare souls. May God´s peace be upon his wife and family.

Mr. Deaver was my biology teacher in Madison. He was a great teacher and neighbor. Our sympathies to his family.

My memory of James Deaver is from Madison High School. He was a teacher that tried to get everyone to pass. I didn´t realize/appreciate his method till after high school. Mr Deaver made you take notes on his Biology lectures. And your notes counted as a grade so you actually took notes/and were not disruptive. His lectures were given so you would see, hear and (write) copy his overhead notes. This was 3 different ways of people with different learning abilities in getting his info. And then when it was test time, you studied your notes. He impacted a lot of students´ lives. Prayers for All.
