Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory - BarringtonJames Henry DeBolt V, 72, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully under hospice care on January 27, 2026. He was born on May 19, 1953, in Elgin, Illinois, to James and Lillian (nee Shiley) DeBolt.
James was united in marriage to Eileen Mary Ciullo Skoglund on July 27, 1997, and they shared 29 years together.
James worked in telecommunications for much of his career and enjoyed spending his free time outdoors. He had a deep appreciation for nature and could often be found camping, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, skiing, motorcycling, roller blading, or simply enjoying music and dancing.
He is survived by his loving wife, Eileen (Lee); his sisters, Sylvia Donaldson of Madison, Wisconsin, Carol Dalitsch of Barrington, Illinois, Mary (Dan) Sherman of Wauconda, Illinois, Jane Dawson of Cary, Illinois, Martha Stephens of Island Lake, Illinois, and Marjorie Sandstol of Cary, Illinois; as well as seven nephews, three nieces, ten grand-nephews, seven grand-nieces, and one great-grandnephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Linda DeBolt; his brothers-in-law, John R. Dawson, Rod Donaldson, and Walter Dalitsch Jr.; his niece, Heather Bryant; and his nephew, Matthew Stephens.
